Fury vs Chisora LIVE!

Tyson Fury brushed aside Derek Chisora in another brutal masterclass to successfully retain his WBC world heavyweight title on Saturday night. In front of 60,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ controlled a completely one-sided fight from start to finish to secure a third victory over his old friend and British rival.

It sent an emphatic message to Oleksandr Usyk, who was sitting ringside and afterwards faced off with his fellow champion ahead of a lucrative undisputed showdown between the pair that is hopefully set to take place in early 2023. If not, then Fury has instead pledged to fight Joe Joyce, who also muscled his way into the post-fight antics in north London. However, Fury’s admittance that he now needs elbow surgery will throw further uncertainty over the division.

Tonight’s undercard saw Daniel Dubois bounce back from an early disaster and potential knee ligament injury to retain his WBA ‘regular’ heavyweight title for the first time with an emphatic third-round stoppage of Kevin Lerena. There were also wins for Karol Itauma, Royston Barney-Smith, Hosea Burton and Isaac Lowe, with Denys Berinchyk outworking Yvan Mendy to win the European lightweight gold. Chisora knows all about that Fury jab after two previous meetings and has already taken a lot of them here, with Fury using it nicely to set up his right hand.

Chisora has success with a signature wide looping right, but the second is missed and leads to Del Boy eating another sharp uppercut.

Fury is really hitting his stride now, jabbing so well and hurting Chisora with a beautiful right uppercut.

Chisora is hurt and he’s against the ropes, with Fury measuring his shots and letting his hands go.

He is capable of landing that right nicely and can switch up his attacks well from body to head.

Berinchyk is definitely slowing, not quite as much volume coming from him now.

He has him caught on the ropes and unleashes flurry after flurry, including a sickening blow that detonates behind the left elbow.

That saps whatever remaining energy Belujsky has and he tries to hang on back in the corner as the blows continue to rain down with both hands.

The referee steps in with 1:36 left in the round as Itauma prises open the defences smartly before landing flush with a straight left hand that rocks back Belujsky’s head.

That’s only the second time ‘Big Bad Vlad’ has been stopped. Really impressive stuff from Itauma.

Itauma shows fantastic poise and anticipation to rock the Slovakian with a hard short right.

It clearly hurt him and Itauma ups the punishment, swarming and overwhelming his opponent, who absorbs more heavy punishment and several more chopping blows before being sent spiralling backwards and down to the canvas.

He rises and just beats the count and we’ll carry on, but Belujsky cannot have much left in the tank.

He’s into uncharted territory here, but will be grateful for the rounds - especially when he’s boxing so well.

It’s still one-way traffic in this bout, with Itauma still jabbing like a dream and moving in and out with real grace, landing plenty.

He switches up his attacks from head to body so smartly, including a nice right hook to the body late in the fifth.

Belujsky had a bit more success in the fourth, but he’s just not got the hand, foot or head speed to compete on the same level here.

His attacks are mostly costly lunges from too far out that see him peppered with sharp and accurate counters.

When he does look to land heavy, Itauma has the foot speed and head movement to get out of danger.

Having said that, Belujsky is a tough and resilient customer and is proving tricky to get rid of.

That piercing jab is such a weapon and he continues to utilise it to excellent effect, setting up his attacks perfectly.

He’s keeping Belujsky at range when he needs to but then getting inside off the jab and landing nicely with thudding power at close quarters.

Highly-rated undefeated young Hampshire super-featherweight Royston Barney-Smith has just blasted out Cruz Perez inside a minute.

Another first-round blitz from the stylish southpaw, who detonated a peach of a left-hand counter upstairs that landed flush and sent his Nicaraguan challenger down.

Perez did rise to beat the count, but the referee was not happy with what he saw.

Of course he’s here to go face-to-face with Fury and lay down the challenge, but he’s also in attendance to support compatriot Denys Berinchyk.

His fellow Ukrainian takes on Yvan Mendy for the European light-heavyweight title later on.

“I don’t see any reason why the Usyk fight with Tyson Fury can’t be made speedily without much trouble,” he said.

“I know the Usyk people very well. I know Oleksandr Usyk. I know he wants the fight. I talked with Tyson a little while ago, and he wants the fight.

Krassyuk added that the Usyk-Fury fight is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia in late February or early March, as did Usyk’s rematch win over Anthony Joshua in August.

“This fight can happen at every point of the earth,” he told BBC Sport. “At this point in time our number one priority is our partners in the Middle East, which is Saudi Arabia.”

On Usyk’s presence at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight, the scene of his greatest career night in the first Joshua bout last September, the promoter added: “Usyk will definitely want to look into the eyes of his next opponent.

Promoter Alex Krassyuk has confirmed this week that the undisputed clash with Tyson Fury that everyone wants to see is almost agreed for early 2023.

“We are very close. This fight is almost about to happen. This is a historical fight,” he told BBC Sport.

“It is a special moment for Usyk because he has a chance to unify the belts in two divisions, being the cruiserweight undisputed champion and becoming the undisputed champion at heavyweight. He can’t miss this opportunity.

Fury weighed in at 268lbs on Friday night, four pounds heavier than he was against Whyte back in April.

Chisora, meanwhile, tipped the scales at 260lbs, having weighed around 258 in his rematch with Pulev over the summer.

It is almost a career-heaviest for Del Boy, who was 261 for the first fight between these old rivals some 11 years ago.

Fury is a massive, overwhelming favourite here for a reason. Chisora will be game as ever and willing to throw bombs at every opportunity no doubt, the problem being that he is unlikely to ever get close enough to the champion to do any damage.

As we’ve seen countless times now, the towering Fury is an absolute master of the footwork, movement and angles, utilising his remarkable ring IQ and skillset to dominate vastly inferior challengers, as we saw against Dillian Whyte.

And since that second fight with Deontay Wilder, he’s also added the explosive power he needs to finish off struggling challengers with aplomb.
