Hey there Upper East Siders… It looks like the Brooklyn-based siblings who infiltrated New York City's elite are back together again.
Gossip Girl fans are getting the rare treat of a reunion between former on-screen brother and sister, Penn Badgley and Taylor Momsen.
The two actors, who famously played Dan and Jenny Humphrey on The CW hit series, Gossip Girl, came together for an upcoming episode of Badgley's podcast, Podcrushed. In photos teased on the show's Instagram and reshared by Momsen, the pair looked the part of siblings, as Badgley, 36, is seen teasing Momsen, 30, in one photo — just like any big brother would do.
“A reunion worth waiting for,” the caption reads. “But don’t ask us what’s going on in the second photo, we don’t know either.”
The second photo shows the pair standing side-by-side, but Badgley appears to be wearing dark makeup around his eyes. We can only speculate that it's a nod to Jenny Humphrey's signature smokey eye showcased throughout the series.
The podcast's social media account announced that Momsen's episode will be released on September 6.
While Badgley stayed on throughout the series' entire six-season run — and was a major part of the show's ending — Momsen left after the show's third season. She made her return briefly in season 4 and then once more for the show's finale in 2012.
Rumors floated around that Momsen — who was a teenager at the time of filming — was difficult to work with on set. Badgley vehemently defended his on-screen little sister, including one interview where he said, “She’s a really sweet girl, very smart, very talented. She’s just growing up.”
Badgley's podcast, which he hosts alongside Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari, has featured other former Gossip Girl co-stars including Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) and Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald). This is one reunion we can't wait to hear.
