Flooding Swamps Apartment Building Near Seoul

Heavy rain and flash flooding swamped residential areas in Gimpo, South Korea – northwest of Seoul – on August 9.

At least nine people were killed and six people were missing as of Tuesday as rain and flooding inundated Seoul, Gimpo, and the surrounding areas, Yonhap reported.

Up to 141.5 mm (5.6 inches) of rain fell in one hour in parts of Seoul on Monday, according to reports, and more rain was expected on Wednesday, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration.
