‘The Flash’ Season 8: Barry Allen Steps Up His Shoe Game – and Gets a Suit to Match (Photos)

Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen is leveling up his look for Season 8 of “The Flash.” At Saturday’s DC FanDome virtual event, the CW superhero introduced his new look – which includes not only a fresh crest design and wings, but a pair of dazzling – one might even say flashy – golden boots.

The new upgrade brings his look one step closer to his appearance in the comic books. It’s something the show has been headed gradually since season 1 back in 2014, but ‘realism’ is finally being set aside in favor of awesomeness, and guys, we love it.

During FanDome, Gustin remarked that the boots are “the final element that’s been missing. I’ve loved all the versions of The Flash suit we’ve had on the show, but the suit we have now is the closest to the many iterations you see in the comic books — with the exception of those gold boots!”

“I’ve always felt that those boots would be the final touch,” he added.

Season 8 will kick off with a five-part crossover special, “Armageddon,” that will feature a number of fan favorites from the Arrowverse, including Black Lightning (Cress Williams), Batwoman (Javicia Leslie), the Atom (Brandon Routh). Led by Barry, these heroes must band together to protect Earth from supervillain Despero (Tony Curran). It premieres on the CW on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 9 p.m.
