Five Guys Burgers & Fries is opening a new location in south Fort Worth. Here’s where.

Burger-lovers in southern Tarrant County are getting a Five Guys.

The Virginia-based restaurant chain is planning to build a Five Guys Burger and Fries near Burleson at 12761 South Freeway, off Interstate 35W, according to records filed with the state. The location is near the McAlister Road exit, which already has shopping centers, chain restaurants and a movie theater.

Construction on the 3,000-square-foot space begins in July and is expected to finish in early October.

Five Guys recently made a list of among fast-food restaurants with the healthiest burger offerings, though the Texas-founded Whataburger ranked first place. Five Guys says it uses only fresh ground beef that isn’t frozen, and only peanut oil for its fries.

Five Guys, started in suburban Washington DC in 1986, now has more than 1,600 restaurants since it began franchising in 2003. There are 66 restaurants in Texas, including two others in Fort Worth (South Hulen and Alliance), one in Arlington, one in Hurst and one in Euless.
