First trailer for Jack Quaid's new horror movie Companion
The first trailer for Jack Quaid's new horror movie Companion has been unveiled.
While little is known about the film's plot, the new teaser does offer some insight by initially inviting audiences to "experience a new kind of love story" from "the studio that brought you The Notebook."
As this tagline appears and the song 'I Only Have Eyes for You' by The Flamingos plays, Quaid's character wines and dines a young woman, played by Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher.

However, it's soon revealed that Thatcher's character is actually chained to the table, before another tagline informs us that the film is "from the unhinged creators of Barbarian".
Throughout the trailer, Thatcher is seemingly stalked and chased by Quaid, who is also shown pointing a gun at her while sporting a creepy smile.
In another shot, Thatcher stares at Quaid and holds her hand over a candle’s flame until her arm catches fire.
"I know it's going to sound cheesy, but the moment we locked eyes, there was just a...spark," she says in voiceover.

Other cast members include The White Lotus star Lukas Gage, Never Have I Ever actress Megan Suri and What We Do in the Shadows' Harvey Guillén.
Companion marks the directorial debut of Drew Hancock, who also wrote the film's script. Meanwhile, Barbarian writer and director Zach Cregger produces alongside Raphael Margules, JD Lifshitz and Roy Lee.
Quaid is perhaps best known for his role as Hughie Campbell in Prime Video's hit series The Boys.
Following the release of its fourth season in June, it was confirmed that The Boys has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
Companion is scheduled for release on January 8, 2025.
