The Toxic Avenger follows the story of a janitor who is diagnosed with a terminal illness, which has an expensive cure that his greedy boss refuses to pay for.
However, while he tries to take matters into his own hands and rob the company, he falls into a vat of toxic waste.
There, he is "transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed," the movie's synopsis adds.

Alongside Dinklage, the movie also stars Lord of the Rings' Elijah Wood, Gavin & Stacey's Julia Davis, Doctor Sleep's Jacob Tremblay, Zola's Taylour Paige and Kevin Bacon.
The Toxic Avenger has been directed and written by I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore's Macon Blair, who is also starring.
The original movie famously didn't make an initial splash when it was released in 1984, though did go on to launch a franchise that consists of three sequels – the most recent of which was released in 2000 – and an animated TV series called Toxic Crusaders in 1991.
The Toxic Avenger will premiere at Fantastic Fest 2023.
