All five first ladies paid tribute to Rosalynn shortly following her death. Michelle Obama wrote, "When our family was in the White House, every so often, Rosalynn would join me for lunch, offering a few words of advice and always — always — a helping hand. She reminded me to make the role of First Lady my own, just like she did. I’ll always remain grateful for her support and her generosity."

Other guests at today's service included President Joe Biden, Former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Kamala Harris, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Georgia's first lady Marty Kemp, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, and other members of Congress and Georgia elected officials.

Notably, Jimmy Carter, who entered hospice care in February and is now 99, made the journey from Plains to Atlanta to attend the service for his late wife. "He’s coming to the end, and he’s very, very physically diminished," Jason Carter, a grandson of Jimmy and Rosalynn, said in an interview. "But I think he was proud and happy that he was there for her till the very end, and he wasn’t going to miss this for anything."
