Final Destination 6 will see Death come after another batch of unfortunate victims, but the new movie will also bring back another familiar face.
Bloody Disgusting has reported that Tony Todd will be reprising his role as mysterious mortician William Bludworth. Not only that, but the new movie will apparently delve into his backstory with a flashback to Bludworth's childhood.
Todd has appeared in Final Destination, Final Destination 2 and Final Destination 5, as well as a voice cameo in Final Destination 3. Bludworth always seems to know about Death's design, although rarely gives a lot of clear advice to the new victims.
Perhaps we'll all get some answers to why he's been so enigmatic all these years in Final Destination 6.
There has yet to be official confirmation of Todd's appearance in the new movie, but we hope it does happen.
It's been 12 years since the release of Final Destination 5 and the new movie was first confirmed in January 2022 when Spider-Man: No Way Home's Jon Watts joined the movie as a producer.
The last official update on the movie came in September 2022 when Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein were announced as the directors of Final Destination 6, which will be written by Scream 6's Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor.
Given the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, development on the movie has been put on pause. However, series creator Jeffrey Reddick recently told Collider that everything is ready to roll once the strikes are over.
"Craig [Perry, producer] will tell me stuff, and I can't repeat it obviously because I'm very good at that because I know I don't wanna spoil anything," he teased.
"But every time that I've heard anything that they're doing, or any scene that they're doing or planning, it just makes me smile. The fans are gonna be – it's gonna be well worth the wait."
Final Destination 6 does not yet have a release date.
