Feel Good star Mae Martin has come out as non-binary in an Instagram post.
Comedian, actor and writer Mae, who both wrote and starred in Channel 4 / Netflix comedy Feel Good, has shared a trio of photos of themselves wearing a black vest and trousers and a binder, and wrote a post confirming their gender identity.
"The way I feel about my gender identity is ongoing and evolving, and it's personal, but I thought it might be good to say for clarity and in case anyone finds it helpful – I'm non-binary, my pronouns are they/them and she/her (I love it when people say 'they' and I really don't mind 'she' at ALL, truly)," they said.

"I'm very bisexual and attracted to people of all genders. I experience gender dysphoria sometimes – not always! – and have done since I was a tiny kid. When that dysphoria hits it sucks, and I find wearing a binder can sometimes help me feel more confident."
Mae went on to say that photoshoots can trigger feelings of "anxiety" in them and that embracing wearing a binder has been a big help.
"This aspect of my identity is just one part of me and not the main part at ALL, but I get asked about it a lot in interviews/by online people, and am often inaccurately referred to as a female comedian or a lesbian comedian, so I thought I'd just clarify," they said.
"I haven't been that clear publicly, or privately to some of my friends to be honest. That's mainly because I'm still figuring it out. I thought I would be transparent, you know?"
Mae has received a great deal of support since sharing their post, with their Feel Good co-star Lisa Kudrow among the people to like the post.
Comedian Lolly Adefope commented: "love you", while Sarah Millican sent a trio of heart emojis.
Mae has also appeared on Richard Osman's House of Games and has written for Canadian comedy series Baroness von Sketch Show, while a second and final series of Feel Good is expected to premiere later this year.
Feel Good follows the development of a relationship between comedian Mae (played by Mae Martin) and George (Charlotte Ritchie), while Mae also tries to deal with their mother Linda (Kudrow) and attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
