Fast X's Jason Momoa teases Dante's unexpected Swan Lake moment

Fast X villain Jason Momoa has delved into the unexpected flamboyancy of Dante Reyes.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, the Aquaman actor was quizzed on the details he appreciated most about his character.

"I loved a lot of the stuff," he began. "I wear my hair in all kinds of wacky ways, but I put my hair up like a peacock.

"I'd wear my hair in certain ways when I come to set, just the most crazy stuff and no one batted an eye, no one questioned it.

"After a certain point, it was like, 'That's the character' and that's what I asked to do. I loved all the producers and even Vin [Diesel] for trusting it and letting me play it the way I did," he revealed.

"We'd come up with stuff on the set and stuntmen and grips are looking at me as a grown man dancing around doing ballet, and literally Googled it 'how to do Swan Lake' in that moment, and they let me do it."

He could've always hit up Natalie Portman...

Further along, Momoa (who'll headline a Minecraft movie in 2025) also discussed finding a balance between Dante's menacing and sunnier sides.

"I went in with a certain idea of how I wanted to play this character and everyone really got behind it," he said. "The more you play and with the help of [director Louis Leterrier], who I want to work with for the rest of my life, he did a phenomenal job, and he just encouraged me to play more.

"I wanted to make a character who is... to me, the devil is something that lures you in, it has this inviting feeling and you trust it and the next thing you know, you're on the dark side.

"I wanted to make him very approachable with the colours, and when you got really close enough to see his eyes, you're like, 'F**k, I've been tricked, this is the devil' and he's gonna have fun hurting you."

Fast X cruises into cinemas this Friday (May 19).
