Yahoo Movies Fans are calling out Kanye over a resurfaced clip involving Kim's weight
Fans of Keeping Up With The Kardashians are calling out Kim and her ex Kanye West over an old resurfaced clip, in which post-giving birth to North, Kim says she told her personal trainer that she wants to lose 15lbs. To this, her PT (who doesn't appear in the clip) allegedly replied "there’s no way, can’t even imagine you 15 pounds lighter", according to Kim when she recants the story to sister, Khloé... And it sounds as though neither Kim nor Kanye took the expert's response all that well.
Following this, Kim then tells Khloé, "Kanye literally went crazy on the trainer today. She was like 'So what are your goals?" and I was like 'I need to get down to 120' and she's like 'Oh girl, there's no way! I can't even imagine you 15lbs lighter!'."
Kim then continues on to say, "Kanye's like, 'Wait a minute. You are the trainer and you're telling me you can't imagine her 15lbs lighter? We need to get another trainer then. Because if I tell you she needs to lose weight in between her toe, you would have figured out a fucking toe weight'."
Even though the clip is from Episode 3 of the show's tenth season, which aired over seven years ago, the internet has a funny way of recirculating things and airing ~opinions~ about them later down the line.
This particular snippet of the reality show was re-uploaded to YouTube last week and has already had over 1.2 million views – and a tonne of comments saying that it sounds as though Kanye is displaying worryingly toxic and controlling traits in his response to the trainer. Ditto, viewers aren't loving how Kim seems to brag about Kanye's approach to the trainer, when the PT is supposedly the expert in this situation.
One person wrote in a comment, which has since picked up over 12,000 likes, "But why are they smiling and in support of his toxicity?"
Another added, "In what universe is this romantic?" while a third said, "Are we not going to talk about the fact that the trainer was absolutely correct and within her right to say that…. if my husband tried to tell my trainer that they should do anything at all [...] he’d be on the couch forever lol".
A fourth person pointed out, "How she repeats what he said: "if I tell you she has to lose weight between her toe" makes it seem like he WAS the one telling her to lose weight. I hope that wasn't the case."
Neither Kim or Kanye have commented publicly on the resurfacing of this clip. Cosmopolitan UK have reached out to their teams.
