A tweeted video shows a spindly, grey figure walking across a snowy field toward a saucer-shaped vessel. The figure boards the vessel, which then lifts off and flies away.

"Filmed by a ranger in Siberia," reads the caption in the March 15 tweet (direct link, archive link). "So what do you say Some will believe it, others will be in denial."

The post was shared 70 times on Facebook, according to Crowdtangle, a social media analytics tool.

Video is 'funny animation,' not authentic footage

The video was originally shared on YouTube in 2018 by the user Alien Unleash and is titled "Funny creature walks to a future saucer, travels through mountains – Sci-Fi Short Film." The YouTube video's description labels it an "animation."

The Alien Unleash page features hundreds of UFO- and alien-themed videos. The user could not be reached, but the account's "about" page states, "I make funny animations about futuristic stuff."

While the tweet claims the footage is from Siberia, internet users have previously claimed the video was captured in Alaska and Romania.

The Twitter user who posted the video could not be reached.
