Ezra Miller Explains How His Flash Will Differ From The TV Version

When Ezra Miller makes his debut as The Flash in the DC Cinematic Universe we will immediately be able to compare him to Grant Gustin’s version on the television show of the same name.

Obviously, this means that things could get slightly awkward between the duo. But Ezra Miller has now explained how his version of The Flash will be different to Gustin’s, while once again proving that he’s a bit of a die-hard fan of the character.

Miller explained to Entertainment Weekly, “Well, [first] it’s going to be a movie,” before he then went a little deeper by declaring, “I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak.”

This led Miller to pause, before he noted, “Wow, I just made such a pun without meaning to!” Miller basked in the glow of his pun because it was a reference to The Flash’s parallel universe story lines in the comics.

Satisfied with his play on words, Miller continued, “I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero.”

“I hope to realise him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic – or the heroism of someone who is flawed, deeply human person.”

Anyone with any trepidation over Ezra Miller’s portrayal of The Flash should have had their confidence in the actor boosted by his above remarks, which were not only eloquent and on point, but also included a pun. Something that’s always appreciated.

We’re pretty sure that Ezra Miller is going to make his first appearance as The Flash next spring in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’. But while his role in that film is set to rather minuscule, he will have a bigger part to play in 2017’s ‘Justice League: Part One’, while his own solo adventure will be out on 23 March, 2018.
