Time is quickly running out to shop one of our favorite annual events, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The sale is practically considered a holiday among the fashion set, and even the most casual of shoppers know it's a chance to stock up on their favorite brands for less. But this year? Oh, this year, the sale is hitting different. Thanks to a little thing called inflation, groceries, gas, and even clothes are more expensive than ever—yet we simultaneously have busier social calendars than ever after two years of lockdown, packed with summer travel, weddings and events. Those occasions often call for new clothes (especially when clothes you haven't touched in years don't fit anymore), which means even more spending. Suffice to say, we've never been more ready for a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale than we are right about now.

So, what is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, anyway?
The Anniversary Sale is Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year, and it's unique in a number of ways. First, the sale lasts about two weeks, giving you plenty of time to shop and, most importantly, save. Second, Nordstrom previews the deals in advance of them actually going on sale so you're able to strategize in advance. But most notable is the reverse approach to marking things down: instead of offering discounts on old, out-of-season inventory, the team at Nordstrom knocks a very respectable percentage off a bunch of brand-new merchandise. The sale always happens in the summer, so that translates to a golden opportunity to stock up on the latest summer trends, swimwear, or fall-friendly pieces like jackets, overcoats, jeans, and boots long before the chill sets in.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022 kicked off on July 15 and runs through Sunday, July 31. Nordstrom card holders got early access to the sale starting on July 6, which is a huge advantage because the best deals tend to sell out fast. On June 29, Nordstrom dropped the official Anniversary Sale Preview, where shoppers could see every discount that will be included in the sale and start a shopping list.
