Sneak Peek at the Snow Wraith, Plus Other Nasty New Creatures From DreamWorks's 'Dragons: Race to Edge'

Behold, the latest dragon to terrorize the riders of Berk. Here, in this exclusive clip, we see the dreaded Snow Wraith in action for the first time.

The speedy, snarling white worm is one of several new species to be introduced on DreamWorks’s upcoming How to Train Your Dragon spinoff, Dragons: Race to the Edge, premiering June 26 on Netflix.

The 13-episode original animated series, set before the events of How to Train Your Dragon 2, finds Hiccup, Toothless, and their crew seeking to unlock the mysteries of the Dragon Eye relic in the unexplored lands beyond Berk. The above clip is a scene from the second episode, “Dragon Eye of the Beholder, Part 2,” featuring the riders — Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut — coming face to face with the Snow Wraith on the frozen tundra of Glacier Island.

The untrainable, strike-class drake uses the blizzard as cover and relies on heat vision to locate its prey, which may include Snotlout.

Aside from the Snow Wraith, the ever-expanding Dragons bestiary — already chock full of such lovely critters as Flightmares, Scauldrons, Screaming Deaths, and Skullcrushers — will add dangerous-sounding newbies like the Night Terror, Death Song, Razorwhip, and Catastrophic Quaken.

In other words, Race to the Edge is a great way to get your tele-dragon fix while enduring the painfully long wait until the next season of Game of Thrones.
