Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace has spoken to Digital Spy about the drama ahead as her character Sally St Claire grows suspicious of PC George Kiss.

The Channel 4 soap has revealed that Sally will start to realise that George (Callum Kerr) isn't all he seems in upcoming episodes.

George has been manipulating and abusing Sally's son John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in a coercive control storyline. However, thanks to George's subtle scheming, John Paul is about to be arrested as he's wrongfully suspected of attacking his boyfriend.

Hinting at where the story goes next, Annie told Digital Spy: "[Sally is] quite shocked by the way things are turning out. She keeps hearing things about the way George is to different people. He's a bit two-faced and she's trying to get to the bottom of it.

"It's not just the arrest, but it's surrounding the injury that George gets. It was a perfectly innocent injury, but he's quite happy to sow the seeds of discontent.

"He doesn't come right out and say: 'This was John Paul'. But he makes everyone think twice and he doesn't categorically clear John Paul's name in this. That spreads around between the hospital staff and the rest of the village.

"It escalates from there into the arrest and Sally is really thrown by the whole thing. It seemed to be all fine, but suddenly it's escalated into this."

Asked about what Sally's next move might be, Annie replied: "Sally is a headteacher. Headteachers, like police officers, have some kind of sixth sense for lying!

"She's latched onto this and she twigs that George is not giving the whole story on this. She just doesn't quite understand why he's putting John Paul into this situation.

"Sally is quite keen to warn John Paul: 'This is not everything it seems to be. You need to be really careful here'. John Paul is just in disbelief, I think.

"It's her son after all and she doesn't want to see her son's name trashed by anybody. I think she's going to do everything she can to protect him.

"The problem is, George isn't going to want that and he's going to want to keep us apart. That creates a bigger tension that is going to happen later on."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
