Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has teased the return of two familiar faces.
The actress's character Sarah Barlow looks likely to take centre stage in upcoming drama on the cobbles, as her daughter Bethany makes an exciting comeback.
In early August, word leaked out that Lucy Fallon had agreed to reprise her role as Bethany after nearly four years away.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards 2023, Tina laughed: "I didn't know [Lucy's return] was still a secret and I put something on Instagram! I was like: 'I wasn't meant to do that, was I?' The press office was like: 'No, Tina, you were not meant to do that!'
"I'm so excited. She's such a well-loved human, never mind character. Obviously the world love her as Bethany and so do we, but we also love her as Lucy and she is part of our little pretend family, so I can't wait to have her back."
Asked what she knows about Bethany's return plot, Tina replied: "Not a lot. She's been working in London. She comes back with a purpose, but I don't know anything, really, is the honest truth!
"But I'm sure, knowing that it's Bethany, there will be a lot of drama."
Tina also suggested that viewers haven't seen the last of Damon Hay following his exit from the soap in June.
Sarah's affair with Damon led to the breakdown of her marriage to Adam – and there'd certainly be trouble if he reappeared in Weatherfield.
Tina told us: "Where we're up to at the moment, Sarah's getting divorced. I do think [Sarah and Adam will] probably always love each other. I think there's little moments, but I just wonder if there's too much water under the bridge.
"I have heard a rumour that Damon might be making an appearance, so I do wonder if there might be unfinished business there as well. I think that'll be interesting."
