Excessive Rain Causes Street Flooding in Central Texas

“Excessive rain” caused flash flooding in parts of central Texas on Thursday afternoon, August 18, the National Weather Service said.

Video taken by Levi Newell shows street flooding in Rockdale, he said.

As of 2:56 pm, between 1 and 2 inches of rain had fallen in Milam County, with an additional 1 to 2 inches expected, the NWS said.

A flood advisory was in effect for Rockdale until 4:30 pm.
