Where and when is Fargo season 5 set?

After the previous season went back to the early 1950s to tell its noir-tinged story of crime in Kansas City, Mo., Fargo's new season will be its most current yet, taking place in both Minnesota and North Dakota in 2019.

Who's starring in this season?

Emmy-nominated actress Juno Temple stars as Dorothy "Dot" Lyon alongside David Rysdahl, who plays her doting husband Wayne Lyon, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as her no-nonsense mother-in-law Lorraine Lyon. Dave Foley serves as Lorraine's right-hand man, Danish Graves.

Meanwhile, Jon Hamm plays North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman, with Stranger Things fan-favorite Joe Keery starring as his son, Gator Tillman. New Girl's Lamorne Morris will play North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr, while Never Have I Ever's Richa Moorjani will play Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead. And last, but certainly not least, Sam Spruell will play a mysterious character named Ole Munch.

What is Fargo season 5 about?

Fargo season 5 will introduce two important new families to Noah Hawley's Midwest universe: The Lyons and the Tillmans. In true Fargo fashion, Dot's legal trouble ends up setting off a chain reaction that sees the unassuming housewife thrown back into a world she thought she left behind.

But others, like North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman, haven't forgotten. The rancher, preacher, and constitutional lawman has spent years hunting down Dot alongside son Gator and a drifter named Ole Munch. With her back to the wall, Dot must fight to protect herself and her family from her mysterious past.

The only problem? Dot's husband Wayne keeps asking his mom Lorraine, who is the CEO of the largest debt collector's agency in the country, for help. While unimpressed with her son's partner, Lorraine enlists her advisor Danish Graves to help Dot out. However, her awkward behavior has already piqued the curiosity of Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead and North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr, setting the stage for a wild season.

When does the season premiere?

Season 5 of Fargo will premiere on Nov. 21 on FX.
