Ever bought a Celsius energy drink? You could receive up to $250 from class action lawsuit

People who drink Celsius may be eligible to receive compensation from a class action lawsuit settlement with the popular energy drink company, and earn up to $250.

The settlement stems from lawsuit filed in November, alleging Celsius drinks had misleading labels that said the drink contained "no preservatives" but contained citric acid.

The company denied the allegations, saying citric acid was added to products as a flavor and not as a preservative.

Eventually, the parties agreed to a settlement instead of proceeding with the lawsuit. The settlement fund was set at $7.8 million.

The settlement comes weeks after hip-hop artist Flo Rida was awarded $82.6 million in a lawsuit with the company. A South Florida jury ruled Celsius breached a contract with Flo Rida and attempted to hide money from him.

There are several stipulations for settlement money meant for people who bought the drink. Here's what to know about eligibility:

Who is eligible for Celsius settlement money?

The class-action settlement website states that people eligible for compensation drank Celsius drinks "for personal or household consumption and not for resale or distribution." Eligible people bought the drinks from Jan. 1, 2015, through Nov. 12, 2022.

People who qualified bought the following drinks during the timeframe:

  • Original Celsius (sometimes labeled “Celsius Live Fit”).

  • Celsius Heat.

  • Celsius BCAA+Energy.

  • Celsius with Stevia.

  • Celsius On-The-Go and Flo Fusion powdered drinks.
