Epic New Trailer For The Jungle Book

A new glimpse of the forthcoming live-action-meets-CGI take on Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’ landed during the Super Bowl ads last night.

The only movie to showcase a full-length trailer (likely costing Disney an absolute fortune, with 30 seconds air time coming in the region of $5 million), it showed a slightly lighter side to the forthcoming movie, the first snippet painting a much darker picture.

'Iron Man’s Jon Favreau is behind the camera for the all-star re-telling of the tale, with Ben Kingsley as the panther Bagheera, Bill Murray as Baloo the bear, Scarlett Johansson as the serpent Kaa and Christopher Walken as King Louie.

Elsewhere, there’s Lupita Nyong'o and Giancarlo Esposito as wolves Raksha and Akela, and Idris Elba as the fearsome Shere Khan.

And then the small matter of newcomer Neel Sethi as the man-cub Mowgli.

There’s peril, mild and otherwise, abound in this more expansive look at Favreau’s movie, but where the first glimpse appeared more like Kipling meets The Dark Knight, Murray’s sign off as Baloo and Walken’s King Louie lightened the atmosphere no end.

Not to mention that orchestral overture of 'The Bear Necessities’.

The movie is due out on April 15 across the UK. Check out the first, much darker teaser below…
