Mark Wood

Superb in his two games. Electrifying pace, six wickets at an average of 5.50 and one every eight balls. England just have to pick carefully when they use him to make the most of his talents for as long as possible. 8/10

Luke Wood

Fine debut, with four wickets grabbing his chance to make an impact, but struggled in the second game and wasn’t picked again. Will be better for the experience but behind Willey, Topley and Curran in a long left-armer's queue. 6/10

Will Jacks

Nicely put together 40 off 22 balls on debut, duck in second game but plenty to come from this talented batsman. Worked hard on his off spin with Moeen Ali with an eye on Test call up for Pakistan tour. 6/10

Richard Gleeson

Bothered by back and hip problems that restricted him to two matches and never looked fully fit. Conditions didn’t help and will be anxious he recovers in Australia where he is official reserve. 5/10

Moeen Ali

Able stand-in for Buttler, calm under pressure. In wonderful touch throughout, and only dismissed once. Made two fifties and looked high class in finisher’s role at No 6. One over in Karachi cost England a game. 8/10

Liam Dawson

Bowled well when given the chance but will always rue his mistake with five needed and on the brink of delivering a comeback win in the 4th game. Will he ever get another chance to win a game for England? 7/10

Olly Stone

One game, did little wrong, looked quick and it was a step forward on his road to recovery. Potential squad member for December’s Test series when his pace and reverse could be an x-factor. 5/10

Phil Salt

One outstanding innings – 88 off 41 – that showed what he is capable of but that was about it really. Failed to build a convincing case to open with Buttler at the World Cup. Good job behind the stumps. 6/10

Alex Hales

England return was patchy. Like Salt he did not take his chance and will hope his record in Australia noses him ahead in selection. Loses a mark for three poor drops in the field. 5/10

Dawid Malan

Improved in the final two games and one big innings at the end keeps him in at No 3. Will enjoy more pace and bounce on the ball in Australia than the skiddy decks in Karachi. 6/10

Ben Duckett

Big tour for Duckett, Back in the England frame and made a good impression. Strike rate of 166 against spin was down to a superb mix of power and invention. Dead cert for the Test squad. 9/10

Harry Brook

England’s leading run scorer and with the best strike rate too. Terrific series from Brook, who has the time to pick his spot and the range of shots to make a captain wish he had 12 fielders. 9/10

Sam Curran

Decent series with the ball in tricky conditions for him. His cutters banged in halfway down worked most of the time and nobody really got after him. Good progress after a long lay off for England. 7/10

David Willey

Not much with the bat and the final game improved his bowling figures. With little swing to work with it was a difficult trip for Willey who was the most expensive of the seamers who played a large chunk of the series. 5/10

Adil Rashid

He was flat and went three games without a wicket as he sometimes struggled with the wet ball in Lahore. Pakistan played him well and it has been a poor year by his usual high standards. 5/10

Reece Topley

Experienced and reliable. Topley bowls at all stages of the innings, and offers a wicket-taking threat. He’s also developed into an excellent fielder on the rope. England No 1 left armer. 7/10

Chris Woakes

Bowled very tidily in his two games as he works his way back to full fitness which is a good sight for England after a blank summer. Fighting for a place in the World Cup final XI with Jordan and Curran. 7/10
