Encampments in Sacramento encroaching on kids' ability to walk to school safely

Twenty-ninth and G Streets, at the edge of a residential Midtown Sacramento neighborhood, is an area Lorraine Garrison no longer lets her 13-year-old daughter use as a path from their home to Sutter Middle School. “I don't feel safe with my daughter walking to school,” said Garrison “She doesn't feel safe.” Families in her community are disappointed that their kids, finally attending school in-person again, can't get there on foot or by bicycle without facing obstacles and potential danger.
