Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Priya Kotecha continues to struggle later this month, with potentially upsetting consequences for her relationship with her daughter Amba.
Priya (Fiona Wade) sustained burns in the recent maze fire and is currently making regular hospital visits as her recovery is closely monitored.
In scenes airing later this month, Priya heads back to the hospital for another appointment to see how well her back is healing.
Priya is desperate to put a stop to these trips, so she lies that the skin grafts are feeling better.
Despite this, the doctor warns Priya that her struggles with eating are slowing down the healing process.
Priya decides to keep this news to herself, avoiding an opportunity to tell her father Rishi (Bhasker Patel) the truth about why her burns aren't healing.
The next day, Priya continues to feel anxious about being involved in social situations.
She makes an excuse about why she can't attend the Christmas carol concert with Amba.
Once the event begins, however, Priya regrets not being there for her daughter and heads down to catch the end of it.
Priya becomes the main person keeping an eye on Amba when Rishi is called away to step in as an emergency Santa.
Suddenly, Priya feels overwhelmed and walks away from the crowd, leaving Amba behind.
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday, December 16 at 7pm on ITV.
