FBI agents sue Justice Dept to protect identities of Jan. 6 agents, filing says
An anonymous group of FBI agents and employees took the unusual step on Tuesday of suing the U.S. Justice Department in a bid to prevent President Donald Trump and his allies from publicly disseminating a list of names of all the bureau's employees who worked on Jan. 6 criminal cases. The lawsuit was filed just hours before a 3 p.m. deadline imposed by Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, in which he ordered FBI leadership to turn over to him a list of every single FBI employee who worked to help investigate the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

EU seeks early US talks to avert Trump tariffs
The European Union wants to engage swiftly with the United States over President Donald Trump's planned tariffs, trade chief Maros Sefcovic said on Tuesday, while his boss Ursula von der Leyen forecast negotiations with Washington would be tough. Sefcovic, speaking at a meeting of EU ministers, said he wanted "early engagement" and was awaiting confirmations of the appointment of Trump's picks for Commerce Secretary, financier Howard Lutnick, and for U.S. Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer.

Trump agrees to pause tariffs on Canada and Mexico

Shell reports oil spill in Nigeria after saver pit overflows
Shell reported an oil spill on Tuesday at Ogale, near Port Harcourt, after a saver pit overflowed during flushing operations in the Niger delta region. The oil major's Nigeria business said its spill response team contained the overflow and informed authorities. It added that arrangements were being made for a regulator-led joint visit to determine the cause and impact of the spill, a Shell spokesperson said in a statement.
