Yahoo Movies Emma Corrin thanks Princess Diana in tearful Globes acceptance speech
Emma Corrin paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, as she was named Best Actress in a TV Drama at the 2021 Golden Globes. The British actress made her breakthrough playing the late royal in season four of The Crown, which first aired in November.
In her tearful acceptance speech, Corrin said that Diana had taught her "compassion and empathy".
"Most of all, thank you so much to Diana," she said. "You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure I've ever imagined. On behalf of everyone who remembers you so fondly and passionately in our hearts, thank you."
She also thanked her co-star and "Prince Charming" Josh O'Connor: “I couldn’t have done this without you, thank you for making every single day by my side a complete joy.”
The 25-year-old was up against her other co-star, Olivia Colman, for the award. Colman looked overjoyed for her younger colleague, clapping wildly once the winner was announced then doing a celebratory dance round her living room. The sweet clip has gone viral on Twitter.

Next up for Corrin is a starring role in Olivia Wilde's My Policeman. The actress will act opposite Harry Styles in the LGBTQ+ romance based on Bethan Roberts' 2012 book of the same name. She is also said to be writing her own film script with a friend.
