Emma Corrin puts a Miu Miu twist on one of Princess Diana's iconic looks

The final season of the The Crown premiered in London last night, and Emma Corrin paid homage to Princess Diana's iconic style on the red carpet.

Corrin played the royal in season four of the hit drama, before Elizabeth Debicki took over as an older version of Diana in seasons five and six. Corrin's appearance at the premiere hints that they may appear in flashbacks in the final instalment of the series.

Naturally – as is becoming increasingly common – the actor was inspired by her on-screen counterpart when dressing for the premiere.

Working closely with stylist Harry Lambert, Corrin recreated the white tailored skirt suit that Princess Diana wore during a royal visit to Italy in 1985 – but with a contemporary twist. The custom Miu Miu outfit consisted of a sheer take on the royal's white skirt, paired with a classic white tuxedo jacket and bow-tie. Corrin's look was finished with black leather gloves, platform heels, knee-high black socks and Cartier jewellery.

Corrin won a Golden Globe award for her performance as Princess Diana, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. Their portrayal of the late royal followed the beginnings of Diana's relationship and subsequent wedding to Prince Charles (played in series three and four by Josh O'Connor).

"A lot of it was hard to film," Corrin previously told Bazaar of playing the royal. "The Diana I'm playing in the series goes through a lot. Even some of the more joyous scenes when their marriage was working were complex because there are so many underlying things going on."

The Crown season 6 was split into two episode drops; the first was released on 16 November on Netflix, with the second and final episodes landing on 14 December.
