Emily Ratajkowski – who last year wrote a book, titled: My Body – has opened up about her health, revealing that she found her recent weight loss "really scary".

"When I'm really unwell, I lose so much weight," the model and mum-of-one said this week on her podcast, High Low. Directly referencing a recent bout of weight loss, she added: "It was really, really scary."

Emily went on to say that she's since gained weight and is feeling healthier, both mentally and physically. "For me, [gaining weight] is a huge game-changer, and it's how I know I'm happy," she told her podcast guest, Mia Khalifa.

Although she didn't go into detail about what caused the weight loss, the 31-year-old touched upon the stressful year she's had, which saw her split from her husband of four years, Sebastian Bear-McClard, with whom she shares a 20-month-old son.

"I think trauma lives in the body," Emily continued. "That's my experience."

Last month, a source close to the celebrity told Entertainment Tonight that she is "doing well and getting more adjusted to her life as a single mom since her divorce."

"She’s in a good headspace," the insider added, touching upon her rumoured romance with Pete Davidson. "Things are going well for her."
