Toronto stocks slip as strong U.S. dollar weighs; bank earnings in focus
(Reuters) -Canada's main stock index fell on Monday, pulled down by a strong U.S. dollar that weighed on the commodity-heavy index, while investors looked ahead to major domestic bank earnings due later in the week. The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 124.17 points, or 0.48%, at 25,523.83. The visit, his first to Kyiv since the early months of Russia's 2022 invasion, comes ahead of Donald Trump's return to the White House and weeks after Scholz's governing coalition in Berlin collapsed, threatening his future as chancellor.
