If you, like me, have been searching for the perfect fall bag, you can stop now — I’ve found it. Its collaborative design is by model Emily Ratajkowski and one of my favorite French labels, the Kooples. The Iconic Emily Bag comes in three rectangular sizes: mini, medium, and maxi. I test-drove the medium version in taupe and instantly fell in love. The bags are made of beautiful, supple Italian leather and are accented with gold hardware on the corners, a turn-lock clasp, and have details on the shoulder strap that give an extra-luxurious feel.
I’m not the only one who’s a big fan of the handbag line. Models Jourdan Dunn and Alessandra Ambrosio, in addition to influencers Chriselle Lim and Danielle Bernstein — and of course Ratajkowski herself — have all been spotted carrying the bags around town in recent weeks.
The bag is strong and sturdy with some weight to it, but not in any irritating way. Instead, the heft and feel are indicators of the bag’s craftsmanship and quality materials. The bag features three divider pockets inside as well as a back pocket, allowing you to find your cell phone, wallet, or keys with speed and ease. (Try to name one person who enjoys shuffling through an unorganized bag — I dare you.)
Additionally, the handbag features a removable strap, and elegantly curved handle you can use if you prefer to carry it as a top-handle bag — just as Ratajkowski, Dunn, Lim, and Bernstein have done.
The bags retail for $375 for the mini, $445 for the medium, and $495 for the maxi. They are available in colors ranging from taupe and black to bold, bright shades of red, yellow, green, navy and — for a limited time — a black leather-and-stud version. The bags are not cheap, I admit, but if you’re looking for something that checks all of your boxes — quality, functionality, and style — then these are worth the investment.
