This Designer Created Dresses Out of Vintage Bras and Belts for PFW

HODAKOVA, helmed by Swedish designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson, was one of the emerging names to watch at Paris Fashion Week this season. For Spring/Summer 2023, the rising label showcased a range of garments made out of repurposed vintage items.

Larsson, who served cake at the venue, shared with Vogue, "I think fashion brings joy — that’s why you start doing it, so I really want to bring this feeling back. I’m also very proud that we are actually doing this and that we spend so much time doing this together, our small team, so the cake is just a celebration for the collection."

A continuation of the brand's ongoing theme of converting used goods into all things fashion (one of HODAKOVA's signatures include purses made out of woven belts), the SS23 range featured dresses collaged with bras, as well as matching separates constructed with vintage belts. The theme continued in accessories, with metal underwires converted into earrings while military shirts were stitched together into a mini-skirt. Elsewhere, bulbous silhouettes were found on cropped tops and at the hems of dresses.
