Emerald Fennell has taken to Twitter/X to announce her next movie following on the heels of Saltburn's success.

Sharing a piece of black and white artwork via the platform, Saltburn director Fennell revealed that she is on board to helm a new feature adaptation of Emily Brontë's Gothic romance Wuthering Heights.

The artwork, which features a sketched drawing of a skull and bones, includes a tagline which reads: "Be With Me Always. Take Any Form. Drive Me Mad."

So far, no further announcements have been made on who will star or when to expect the film, but the post has garnered thousands of likes so it's safe to say people are excited.

Written by Emily Brontë in 1847, Wuthering Heights tells the tragic story of the orphan Heathcliff and his love Cathy Earnshaw.

Set on the Yorkshire moors, the novel follows Heathcliff as he attempts to exact revenge on those who came between him and Cathy by taking over Cathy's family home as well as that of her husband.

The novel has seen multiple TV and film adaptations, most recently Andrea Arnold's 2011 movie starring Skins actor Kaya Scodelario alongside James Howson.

Another adaptation saw Ralph Fiennes take on the role of Heathcliff opposite Juliette Binoche as Cathy in the 1992 film from director Peter Kosminsky.

Perhaps the most notable of them all is William Wyler's 1939 take starring Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff and Merle Oberon as Cathy.

Previously opening up about her dream project, Fennell said she's keen to make an erotic take on the classic dinosaur film Jurassic Park.

"I honestly feel that I've been so lucky. I've been able to make my dream projects already," the Call the Midwife star said. "But my favourite film of all time is Jurassic Park, so I would love to get in on the dinosaurs."
