Election results confirmed with no changes

Official municipal election results are in, confirming that the winning candidates announced Oct. 18 are here to stay.

Don Anderberg will return as mayor of Pincher Creek, alongside incumbent councillors Mark Barber and Wayne Elliott.

Wayne Oliver, David Green, Brian Wright and Sahra Nodge will take the remaining positions as councillors.

On MD council are incumbent Rick Lemire of Division 2 and new members Anthony Bruder of Division 1, David Cox of Division 3, Harold Hollingshead of Division 4 and John MacGarva of Division 5. The group will soon take the next step of selecting a reeve.

Elected by acclamation for a second time since his winning bid for mayor in 2013, Blair Painter is back for another term as mayor of Crowsnest Pass. Incumbent councillors Dave Filipuzzi, Glen Girhiny, Doreen Glavin, Lisa Sygutek and Dean Ward were re-elected and will be joined by newcomer Vicki Kubik.

In Cowley, Barbara Burnett will be stepping up as mayor, with Dave Slingerland as deputy mayor and Paula Watson as councillor.

Lori Hodges and Lacey Poytress will return as trustees for Ward 3 of Livingstone Range School Division, while Blake Dolan will represent Ward 4 of the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division.
