Editor’s Edition: ‘Make sure you’re ready’ before becoming an entrepreneur

Mandy Rennehan has always been a hard worker. Her first job came at the age of 10, when she used to sneak out to work at the local fish market. She used the money she earned to buy tools, a decision that sparked an interest in construction.

By the time she was 19-years old, Rennehan had founded Freshco, a small construction company that specialized in retail maintenance. Since then, over the last 25-years, Freshco has grown from serving local companies in Nova Scotia to one that works with some of the world’s most recognized brands.

On this episode of Editor’s Edition, Rennehan explains how she took Freshco from small Nova Scotia construction company to one that works with Lululemon, Apple, Sephora and Tiffany & Co. She also takes us through the biggest challenges she has faced along the way, and what aspiring entrepreneurs need to know if they want to start their own business.
