Eatzi’s Market & Bakery is opening inside this DFW International Airport terminal

Come this fall, travelers will be able to grab gourmet goodies as they hustle to their gates at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Eatzi’s Market & Bakery is going into the airport’s Terminal D, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The terminal services many of DFW’s international flights.

Eatzi’s is a European-style gourmet grocer and bakery known for its take-out and packaged meals and custom sandwiches, specialty foods, wines and sweets. Its chefs have more than 4,000 proprietary recipes as well as made-to-order omelets, pasta, grilled salmon, salads and freshly prepared sushi.

In January 2020, Eatzi’s won a contract to develop restaurants in DFW’s future Terminal F. But the pandemic hit just after that announcement, putting plans on hold for $3.5 billion in airport expansion projects.

Work on the new Eatzi’s concession space in Terminal D will begin March 1 and wrap by August, according to the state filing. The project is estimated at $900,000.

Eatzi’s has six locations in the Metroplex, one of which opened in 2017 in Fort Worth’s University Park Village. Other stores are in Grapevine and the Dallas area.
