EastEnders fears for Lola after Jay Brown reunion

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has hinted there's reason to worry for Lola Pearce after her reunion with Jay Brown.

The reconciliation for the on-off couple will take place in the aftermath of Thursday's episode, which saw Lola caught in the crossfire of a brawl between Phil Mitchell and his rival Jonah's thugs in Peggy's nightclub.

Lola was rushed to the hospital by her former boyfriend Jay Brown, where the two admitted they still have feelings for each other. The pair even shared a romantic kiss after their eventful night.

Lola will need the support in the coming months as producers have confirmed Danielle Harold's exit storyline will involve Lola being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Producer Chris Clenshaw has partnered with Brain Tumour Research and Macmillan Cancer Support on a storyline airing this autumn, designed to raise awareness for the issue.

"It means so much to be trusted with a storyline like this – one that’s close to many people’s hearts," Harold has said. "Sadly many of our viewers will be able to relate to Lola’s story and it’s been heartbreaking to speak to the families affected by brain tumours and hear their stories.

"They’ve been so amazing in sharing their experiences with me, and I’m so lucky to have them. I wouldn’t be able to do this storyline without their support."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
