EastEnders spoilers follow.

Ben Mitchell has called off his marriage to Callum in emotional EastEnders scenes.

The staggering moment came after a gripping episode where Ben finally opened up to his husband about being raped by Lewis, after months of hiding the secret.

Ben had decided to file a police complaint against Lewis, yet was taken completely off guard when Callum entered the interview room.

Once Callum realised Ben was actually the one filing a complaint, he begged his estranged husband to open up if someone had hurt him.

Ben explained that he'd "tried to stop him" and Callum soon realised it was Lewis. After sharing the story, Callum told Ben, "To think I could have lost you, and because of him."

Ben admitted to Callum he didn't tell him because he didn't know if his husband would believe him. Callum dropped to his knees to apologise, insisting he didn't care if they were being watched on CCTV.

Callum waited outside while Ben had his preliminary interview to report the rape. Later, Callum offered to go with Ben for his second statement the following week, but Ben wasn't sure.

Jay arrived, excited to hear Ben had opened up to Callum. When Jay suggested Ben and Callum "sort everything out now", it looked like Ben was hesitant.

In the park, Ben admitted to Callum that Lewis wasn't the cause of their split, they'd "fallen apart" long before he arrived on the scene.

"I know what you want," Ben told his husband. "You want the Sunday afternoons in bed, picking wallpaper, fight over rubbish telly. I wanted that and all, trust me.

"It just ain't in me."

When Callum offered to do anything for "one more chance", Ben gently explained that they were "out of chances".

"I'm sorry. It's over," Ben told him.
