Dune: Part Two star Dave Bautista has revealed the odd reason he decided to adopt his dog, (via Entertainment Weekly).

Appearing on The Tonight Show, Bautista recalled receiving a text from his Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Chris Pratt. Pratt was working alongside Millie Bobby Brown on an unspecified project and the latter needed help finding a loving home for a puppy.

"[Pratt] said, 'I know that you're a fan of this breed, and my co-star is trying to adopt her out,'" Bautista shared. "And I said, 'Oh, sorry, man. You know, I've already got three.' And I just [kept] looking at [the dog's] picture and I was just… I just fell in love with her."

After agreeing to adopt the pitbull, Pratt put Bautista in touch with Brown directly to work out the details. "I sound super Hollywood," Bautista admitted.

"It sounds weird to me when I say, 'Chris Pratt hit me up and I got my dog, you know, from Millie Bobby Brown.'"

He continued: "So I hit Millie up and I said, 'Look, I'm on a film, but I'll be home next week, and I'll get on a plane as soon as I can.' She said, 'Don't worry about it. I'll have someone drop her off.' So literally the day I got home — I was overseas in Rome — I got home and I was there and I waited and these two guys showed up in the middle of the night around midnight."

After the Dune star revealed how "sweaty" and busy the puppy deliverers were from the drive, host Jimmy Fallon joked about the whether it was actually Brown that Bautista had spoken to, asking if the latter had ever met her.

Bautista admitted he hadn't, to which Jimmy replied: "I think you could have gotten catfished by someone adopting a dog!"

Despite not knowing her personally, Bautista gave a fitting tribute to Brown for connecting him with his new dog. "Millie named her Talulah, and I just thought it was so special that Millie named her, so we kept her name," he said.

"My ex-wife adopted her littermate, her little sister, so we have Talulah and Delilah."

Dune: Part Two is out now in cinemas. Dune is available to watch on Netflix.
