The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Evelina London Children’s Hospital today, which Kate has just been announced as patron of.

For the occasion, Kate turned to one of her go-to high street labels, L.K. Bennett for her look: a £325 polka dot silk dress – which is still available to buy from John Lewis.

Kate teamed the dress with green court heels, a matching clutch bag and a pair of Annoushka 18kt pearl earrings – with her trademark locks loose.

Prince William, meanwhile, opted for an pale blue shirt paired with a navy suit.

The Duchess was given a posy upon arrival from Tiana Yales, six, who is being treated for sickle cell. Kate also spoke to Treshanna Durrant and her daughter Kamara Anderson, 13, who were completely surprised by the royal visit.

Kamara, who is being treated for torn ligaments in her leg, said Kate asked how she was feeling.

Mother Treshanna added: “It’s an amazing opportunity to meet her.”

The couple met a number of children receiving care at the hospital, as well as parents and staff before joining in with festive themed activities. Mother-of-three Kate, wearing a festive green LK Bennett polka dot dress, chatted to the children as she made Christmas gifts and cards with them.

Parents Kirsty and Kayleigh, whose three-year-old daughter Nancy has been treated at Evelina since she was born, said the Duchess’s patronage is “fantastic for the hospital and the children.”

The hospital, which is next year marking its 150th anniversary, is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, of which The Queen is Patron.

Evelina London cares for children and young people from before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life. The hospital provides a range of services to children across south London and south east England. Evelina London also provides community services for children and their families in Lambeth and Southwark.

Marian Ridley, Director of Evelina London, said: “We are absolutely delighted and deeply honoured The Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to become our Patron. The Duchess shares our passion for giving children and young people the very best start in life and Her Royal Highness’ support will help champion the life-saving care our staff are providing to our patients.

“It is a huge pleasure to welcome Their Royal Highnesses back to our hospital and we are absolutely delighted that they are able to join us as we begin to celebrate our milestone 150th anniversary. We are immensely grateful for Their Royal Highnesses’ support and we look forward to working closely with The Duchess as our Patron.”
