Dual-threat QB, athlete from Alabama lands Gamecocks offer for 2023

South Carolina on Tuesday offered athlete and dual-threat quarterback Kamron Sandlin of Anniston, Alabama, according to a social media post he shared on Twitter. The Gamecocks offered him as an athlete, potentially as a tight end or a wide receiver.

Sandlin (6-2, 220) posted a practice video of him blocking and going out for passes. He stated he’s an athlete who can play anywhere on the field. Yet, nationally he’s viewed as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation for his class.

Sandlin also holds offers from Mississippi State, Kentucky, UAB, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Samford, Austin Peay and Alcorn State. He has visited Georgia, Auburn and Mississippi State.

USC recruiter Jody Wright didn’t stop with the offer to Sandlin while in Anniston. He also offered athlete Jaylon Cunningham (5-9, 170). Cunningham plays running back and receiver.

Also Tuesday night, defensive tackle Kelby Collins of Gardendale, Alabama announced an official visit date with the Gamecocks for June 10. USC is one of his top five along with Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma and Alabama.

The Gamecocks have made Dylan Lonergan of Snellville, Georgia their top quarterback target for the 2023 class and he is set for an official visit in June. They have also expressed interest in South Florence quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who is currently committed to Syracuse.
