Dry Spell Breaks in Northern Bay Area as Wet Weather Systems Begin to Impact California

A light rain shower fell over Phoenix Lake in Marin County, California, on October 18, after the National Weather Service announced that a series of wet weather systems were expected to impact the drought-stricken state over the coming week.

The weather service said “the Storm Door is officially open” for California this week. Bay Area residents can expect rain, wind, wet roads, and hazardous travel conditions over the coming week.

Thousands woke up without electricity in the Bay Area on October 18 due to the rain, according to poweroutage.ie.
