Drew Dober vs. Brad Riddell in the works for UFC 263 in June
UFC 263 is close to finalizing a lightweight matchup.
Drew Dober vs. Brad Riddell is in the works for the June 12 pay-per-view event, which takes place at a location and venue to be announced.
Two people with knowledge of the targeted booking recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement,
Dober (23-10 MMA, 9-6 UFC) most recently competed at UFC 259 in March when he was submitted by Islam Makhachev in the third round. Prior to the loss, Dober accumulated three straight TKO wins over Marco Polo Reyes, Nasrat Haqparast, and Alexander Hernandez.
Riding a six-fight winning streak, Riddell (9-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) was supposed to compete against Gregor Gillespie at UFC on ESPN on March 20. However, COVID-19 protocols forced Riddell out of the fight, and Gillespie was instead rescheduled for May 8 against Diego Ferreira at UFC on ESPN 24.
