This ‘dreamy’ Hawaii listing is named ‘The Butterfly House’ for a reason. Check it out

In a coastal town along the North Shore of Kauai, Hawaii, a stunning new construction is ready to offer a homeowner a rare opportunity.

It’s known as “The Butterfly House,” and is set to be completed in late 2022. Its whimsical nickname derives from its “soaring roof lines,” the listing on Hawaii Life says.

The three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home — listed for $12.5 million — “represents a rare project where a buyer can obtain a new home on one of the most storied beaches on the island,” a news release states.

“Located on over one-half acre, the unique home captures views in two directions: the crystal-clear coral reef out front and spectacular mountain and waterfall views behind.”

The photos show idyllic renderings of the 2,121-square-foot interior and its stunning patio, which offers brilliant views.

According to Realtor.com, the homes in the area are decades old, which will make the Butterfly House — the first newly built residence in 20 years — stick out in the best way possible.

“When you look at the (local housing) inventory, it’s pretty static,” real estate agent Ben Welborn told Realtor.com. “There’s hardly anything new.”

Features of the home will include:

  • “Wide plank bleached oak floors”

  • “Ipe decks”

  • “Copper alloy metal roof”

  • High-end appliances

  • “Lofty wall plates”

Agents are hoping that the beautiful residence will attract a certain sort of buyer.

“It’s someone who is looking for a contemporary beachfront home,” Welborn told Realtor. “The architecture is what sets this apart. It might not even be Kauai-specific. Or the buyer could be someone who already lives here and has been waiting and watching.”

The listing is held by Welborn and Tiffany Spencer.
