'If You Don't Like It, You Can Go': Halsey Defends Abortion Rights During Phoenix Concert

American singer Halsey gave an impassioned speech during a concert in Phoenix, Arizona, in support of abortion rights on the night of June 26.

This footage uploaded by concert attendee Stephanie Grimaldi shows Halsey delivering her remarks.

“The truth is that my heart breaks looking out into this audience because I see so many people who deserve to have incredible lives, who deserve the right to healthcare that they need, who deserve the right to choose themselves,” Halsey said.

“Here in Arizona, you guys gotta promise me that you’re gonna do that work so the person to the left of you and to the right of you has that right for the rest of their lives. If you don’t like it you can go home right now…”

The LA Times reported multiple attendees were spotted leaving the venue after Halsey’s speech.

In a Twitter post on June 27, the singer responded to those who left the concert saying, “downside of doing outdoor venues: no door to hit them on the way out”. Credit: Stephanie Grimaldi via Storyful

I hope that every single one of you-- and I don't want you ever have to be in a situation where you don't have access to that. I'm looking at your faces right now. I'm looking at you I am remembering your faces. I am remembering what you look like, what you are wearing. And I know that the reality is some of the people I'm looking at right now are going to need an abortion one day.

[CROWD CHEERING]

[CROWD CHEERING]

If you don't like it, you can go home right now. I don't care.
