Dolly Parton Teamed Up With Duncan Hines On A Baking Line Full Of Southern Charm

When an iconic star and a classic food brand come together in collaboration, you know it's bound to be something sweet. So goes the story of Duncan Hines' latest partnership with Dolly Parton, an exclusive line of baking mixes and frostings that are rooted in Southern tradition and Parton family nostalgia.

The collaboration features new flavors that are more exciting than your typical vanilla or chocolate cake. Instead, choose between Dolly Parton's Southern-Style Coconut- or Banana-Flavored Cake Mix, then make your choice between creamy buttercream frosting or chocolate buttercream frosting. Not matter which combination you go for, it'll obviously be delicious.

In an interview with Delish, Dolly explained that she comes from a big family of great cooks, which is why she wanted to venture into the baking world with this Duncan Hines partnership. "It's always fun to get into the kitchen with people you love," Dolly said. "I love to get into the kitchen by myself if I have something special coming up that I'm making. I like to focus. But there's nothing more fun than having friends and family you're close to [over] and baking up some things."

Cake itself has a special place in Dolly's heart and she recalled how her mother would make her and her siblings—all 11 of them!—a special cake for their birthdays. It's these memories that make her so excited for this Duncan Hines line, especially because you don't have to be an expert baker to appreciate a cake mix. Her advice for amateurs? "Just read the box!"

Starting on January 26 while supplies last, a limited number of Dolly Parton's Duncan Hines kits will be available via the Duncan Hines website for $40. The kits include a tea towel, spatula, both cake mixes and both frostings, recipe cards for alternative recipes, and a letter from Dolly. If you can't grab a kit while they're available online, you'll be able to pick up the mixes and frostings wherever you buy Duncan Hines products starting in March.
