Dog was ‘left to die on the train tracks.’ Now Lucky has a new PA home, photos show

A dog named Lucky was left on train tracks in Philadelphia has found his new home, an animal shelter said.

Lucky, the 2-year-old dog, was found by rescuers after “being left to die on the train tracks,” according to a Facebook post by Philly Rescue Angels INC.

The 50-pound pup’s “spine was severed, leaving him paralyzed,” and he had spent two days dodging trains before he was rescued, according to a Feb. 1 Facebook post by the shelter.

Lucky required “bladder expression and bowel assistance at least four times a day,” the Facebook post said.

Now, Lucky has “truly found the best home” with Sidara D. Son, according to a March 27 Facebook post by the shelter.

Son, one of his rescuers, helped Lucky “in his recovery daily” she said in a post on Facebook.

She cared for him physically, attended all his appointments and feels “Lucky is right where he belongs in his forever home” with her “and his pack,” the post said.

“The anxiety, separation anxiety, fears, even fear of car rides, that had consumed him, faded away, once with me,” Son said on Facebook. “He found security in the pack.”

Philly Rescue Angels INC will be “covering Lucky financially for the rest of his life in his adoptive home,” including his medical prescription fills and care, the shelter said on Facebook.
