After *so* much anticipation, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh's psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling is finally here.

Directed by Olivia Wilde, who also stars alongside the two leads, the film arrived in cinemas on Friday (23 September). It tells the story of 1950s husband and wife Jack and Alice (Styles and Pugh), who live in a utopian experimental community named Victory. However, when Alice starts to worry that there could be more to Victory than meets the eye, some disturbing truths come to light.

This one gets a little complicated, so here's a run-through of the Don't Worry Darling ending explained. *Spoilers ahead*, of course.

Throughout the film, we see Alice becoming more and more suspicious of the Victory project, led by Frank (Chris Pine), and the desert they work in.

After seeing a plane crash into the desert, Alice heads out to find the wreckage. She doesn't find the plane, but instead sees a building where the Victory employees work. Set on discovering the truth, Alice confronts Frank but is ultimately kidnapped and sent for electric shock therapy.

Following the therapy, Alice starts to recall memories of her life before Victory. While it originally appeared that Alice and Jack were living in the 1950s, they're actually living in the present day. Alice was a doctor and Jack, struggling with earning less than his wife, signed up to Victory - a 1950s simulation.

We then see flashbacks which show Jack listening to an incel podcast where he finds out about the Victory project. Powered by virtual reality technology, Victory allows men to step into the 1950s universe we see in the film. Meanwhile, in real life, Alice is strapped to her bed at home and transported into the simulation.

Alice eventually figures out what's going on thanks to some of her memories coming back. She confronts Jack and they fight, resulting in Alice hitting Jack over the head with a glass and killing him.

Another Victory wife, Bunny (Olivia Wilde) then arrives and tells Alice that they are indeed in a simulation. She confirms that by killing Jack in the virtual reality world, she's also killed him in real life. Finally, Alice manages to escape and we see her waking up in her real-life bed.

Talk about a plot twist! Don't Worry Darling is in cinemas now.
