Disney Star Bella Thorne Says She Wants To Play Female Deadpool

There’s no denying ‘Deadpool’ was a massive hit earlier this year, so much so that former Disney star Bella Thorne has said she’d love to play the female version of the character.

Speaking to Moviefone, the multi talented 18-year-old was keen to become involved in the superhero craze that’s seen the likes of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr. firmly in the spotlight as iconic characters Captain America, Black Widow, and Iron Man.

“I’d be so down to play like a badass Marvel character,” the singer/model/actor said. And to be fair, who wouldn’t want to establish themselves in the ever-expanding, hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe?

While referencing her current role in ‘Ratchet & Clank’, Throne appeared eager to play a role that’s not squeaky clean and something representative for teens: “Any type of badass female in live-action, like Cora is in this movie,” she said. “I also like playing roles that are very rebellious and real. So it’s good when you really show teenagers for how they actually act and how they actually talk.”

But when specifically asked about which franchise she’d want to be a part of, there was little hesitation: “Honestly, if I could just play a female version of ‘Deadpool’ – any character that’s a female version of ‘Deadpool’ – I’m so down!”

We’re assuming Throne’s seen the hilarious Ryan Reynolds-starring movie, but she may not be aware that a female version of the character does already exist. Fans will be fully aware that Ladypool is a character than features in an alternate universe, Earth-3010 - her alias is Wanda Wilson.

Could we get some sort of a Ladypool-Deadpool crossover in the upcoming sequel, perhaps?

‘Deadpool 2′ is due in cinemas in 2017.
