Walt Disney Animation Studios shared that they’re working on an upcoming animated film called ‘Gigantic’, which was previously known as ‘Giants’. It’s based on the story of the young boy who, after claiming magic beans, climbs a giant beanstalk he grows in his garden, but will likely have a few tweaks and twists for modern audiences.

One half of the ‘Tangled’ directing duo, Nathan Greno, is helming the project after his notable work on the Oscar-winning ‘Big Hero 6′ and is one of the few names attached to the project thus far.

What’s more, ‘Frozen’ fans will be interested to hear that the Oscar-winning marital team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez will be penning the tunes for the movie.

The story will be about an 11-year-old girl named Imma who, from the above artwork that’s been released, we’re assuming is giant that Jack makes friends with. So can we therefore assume the point of view is from the giant?

2013 saw ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ - a CGI and live-action adventure starring Nicholas Hoult - barely made its budget back, but something tells us that this adaptation from Disney will do significantly better.

It’s not been confirmed whether ‘Gigantic’ will be an all CGI affair or if it will be going old school with hand drawn artistry. In all likelihood it’ll follow in the footsteps of ‘Tangled’, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’, ‘Frozen’, and ‘Big Hero 6′ in animation style.

‘Gigantic’ is scheduled for a 2018 release, but has no firm date as of yet.
